Auskick + Superkick

4-8 Years Old I Boys & Girls

Season starts Sunday 19 April 2026
Sharks HQ – Gwawley Park South!

The start of the Sharks journey

Starting footy should feel exciting, supportive and easy to understand. At Cronulla Sharks JAFC, our NAB AFL Auskick and Superkick programs are designed to give children and families a positive first experience of AFL.

Whether your child is new to sport or ready to build on what they already know, our programs focus on enjoyment, confidence and connection. This is where young players learn the game, make friends and become part of a strong, welcoming club community.

Where Sharks Begin

The NAB AFL Auskick pathway is where it all starts.

Our Auskick and Superkick programs give every child the opportunity to play Australian Rules Football in a safe, supportive and inclusive environment. We welcome all families, build confidence in our young players and bring the Shire community together through shared experiences on and off the field.

This is where young players are introduced to Auskick and Superkick in a fun, age-appropriate way. Sessions focus on participation and enjoyment, helping children learn fundamental footy skills while feeling supported every step of the way.

Through skill-based games, activities and modified match play, participants develop coordination, teamwork and game understanding, while building friendships and a genuine love for the game.

At Cronulla Sharks JAFC, we believe strong foundations matter. By nurturing a positive club culture, supporting families and prioritising early experiences, we give young players the best possible start to their AFL journey.

For many, this is the beginning of a lifelong connection to the game and to the Sharks.

Auskick is community-based and parent-supported, delivered by volunteers for the community, with kids’ enjoyment always coming first.

Training

Wednesdays, 4:30–5:30pm
Sharks HQ – Gwawley Park South

Games

Sunday mornings (8:00am starts), with a small number of Friday sessions added throughout the season for extra fun and connection.

Program Structure

Auskick and Superkick are divided into age groups to ensure the right balance of fun, learning and development.

  • Turning 5 and 6 years old - Skills are introduced through fun games and activities, led by volunteer parent coaches and assistants in a relaxed, pressure-free environment.

  • Turning 7 and 8 years old - Skills continue to develop through drills and activities, with the introduction of modified game play. This is a non-tackle format, designed to safely prepare players for junior football. This age group forms part of the AFL Superkick competition.

Parent Involvement

Auskick is a parent volunteer–run program, and parent involvement plays an important role in its success. Parents are encouraged to join in activities and assist with games and drills under the guidance of our coaches. No AFL experience is required. Support and information are available online and through the club.

The enjoyment of the children, and the success of the program, relies on active parent participation. If you register your child, please expect to be involved in each session. Many parents find this time on the field one of the most rewarding parts of the Auskick experience.

Uniforms and Other Gear

All registered Auskickers receive a NAB AFL Auskick welcome pack, including a football and promotional items, sent directly to your postal address.

Each season, Auskickers will be presented with a Sharks guernsey at Guernsey Presentation Day.

Additional gear (shorts, socks, training tops and hoodies) will be available for purchase from CJAFC in the lead-up to Round 1 and throughout the season.

Please note: Sharks guernseys remain the property of CJAFC and must be returned at the end of the season.
